We had great fun today celebrating Proclamation Day in our class. We learned all about the Irish flag and what it represents. In Art we, recreated our own Irish flag using green, white and orange crepe paper and we were very proud of them when they were complete.
As part of our History lesson we learned about what school life was like for children in 1916. We put our historian hats on and analysed some photos from the past. Once we learned what school was like in 1916, we were then able to compare it to our own school days in 2016 and they were very different. Take a look at what we learned below.
We really enjoyed the day and we finished it by singing some Irish songs. One of our favourites was ‘Dilín ó Deamhas’
We hope you enjoyed looking at our work.
